Ince Talks with JP Landman
Published - 14 February, 2020
The Ince Talks series was developed as a part of our mission to co-create an interconnected community of informed contributors to the economy and, subsequently, a more inclusive investment ecosystem. Ince Talks invites influential market players to share in topical discussions and provides an opportunity for networking and knowledge expansion.
The first in the series took place last year, with former South African Post Office CEO, Mark Barnes as the speaker. Read more on this talk here.
Following the success of our exclusive Ince Talks with Mark Barnes, join us as we host the next conversation in the series with political-economic analyst and entertaining speaker, JP Landman.
JP is known for his very different perspective on South Africa and will lead a meaningful, fact-rich discussion of where the country is and where it might go, given politics, economics, and other macro factors.
JP is an expert on trends in politics, economics, social capital and the interplay of demographics and economic growth. JP is well-versed in politics and economics, and the implications of current developments.
Since the start of his career, he has built a track record for accuracy in forecasting government’s economic and social policies. Members of the investment and business communities who have seen JP in action have found the experience stimulating, thought–provoking and entertaining. Importantly, his information and insights have been used by many in their business and investment decisions.
What to expect:
- alternative views: outside the obvious echo-chamber of newspapers, talk-media, dinner tables, and country club locker rooms;
- data-driven thinking and clear-headed analysis;
- educated eye-open optimism;
- a richer set of thinking to questions we, as South Africans, tend to consider too narrowly;
- and a healthy dose of energetic humour tied with potentially liberal use of swear words.
This event will be an interactive session and the audience is encouraged to engage, ask questions and even debate Landman’s views on the struggles and solutions for South Africa.
