A key aspect of the role will the ongoing relationship development and management with prospective and existing clients.

Requirements:

  • We require an individual with a B.Com degree or similar tertiary qualification.
  • Ideally the candidate will have had approximately five years’ previous working experience.
  • This will have been working in or with JSE listed companies where they would have developed a working knowledge and understanding of investor communications, including interim and annual reporting as per the requirements of the JSE.
  • Knowledge of financial advertising and corporate actions would be a distinct advantage as would any exposure to the development of investor related websites.
  • Must have a passion for sales and building long-term client relationships.
  • Is best suited to someone with an interest in and affinity for the business workings of listed companies and the value they place on good investor communications.

Job description:

To efficiently and effectively achieve revenue growth for the assigned portfolio of digital and print products.

Use your experience and relationships in taking the various advertising opportunities to market.

Initiate, develop and be instrumental in the selling of print and digital advertising revenue generating opportunities to clients and advertising/media agencies across South Africa.

The role will be focussed on selling advertising space in some of the fastest growing digital media publications that form part of Media Connect brand.

Via Media Connect we offer advertisers unique access to large segmented communities of shareholders and stakeholders who are looking to stay informed and make better decisions around their investments by accessing the latest news, information and opinions around specific sectors and companies.

Investors subscribe to various online publications,  and it is via these publications that the advertising sales opportunities exist. 

Requirements:

  • At least five years’ digital advertising sales experience
  • A solid track record in achieving digital sales targets is essential to success in the role and is a prerequisite for consideration
  • The candidate must have existing,well-established relationships with digital media buyers as well as with large corporates
  • Be well versed in the various paid media, including social, digital and traditional, in order to be able to persuade and recommend specific digital opportunities that will deliver on brand-specific goals
  • A strategic understanding of digital media planning and buying as well as the associated measures of success and opportunities
  • A strong business orientation and an interest in the commercial world.  
  • Have the skills to put together innovative presentations and the confidence to present at senior client and agency levels.
  • Have the ability to diagnostically sell creative sales solutions.
  • Be self-motivated and a go-getter
  • Be prepared to travel and work extra hours if necessary (client functions, etc.)
  • Be able to achieve set individual sector target and yields
  • To generate sales and Zoho reports for the sales manager
  • Adhere to the sales operations and protocols manual and other company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of the Sales Strategy and execution thereof
  • Be aware of and remain vigilant on client trends, new launches, innovations, agency changes etc to ensure that you constantly remain ahead of the competition with market intelligence
  • Develop and identify opportunities around new client launches, generic advertising campaigns, etc.
  • Develop strategies to extract Revenue.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the creation of attractive and enticing synopsis for these sales opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell and package the Media | CONNECT platforms to the market
